Luffenham Heath GC is proud to play representative golf within the Leicestershire and Rutland Golf Union (LRGU) and the Five Counties Intermediate Scratch League. This section of the website will provide up to date information on golf played by Luffenham members, representing our club - match fixtures, team selections, results and match reports will be included.

In LRGU the club competes each year in the County Foursomes competitions - these being Pro AM, Mixed and Men's. The Pro AM and mixed are a standard foursomes pairs event and the Men's is a 4 man (aggregate score) team event. The club has also entered the seniors foursomes in the past.

The Five Counties Intermediate Scratch league has very recently expanded in 2020, with the addition of ourselves joining Peterborough Milton (Northants), Gog Magog (Cambs), Thetford (Norfolk) and John O Gaunt (Beds). This competitive league aims to involve players of Handicap Index 2.0 to ~6.0 in a scratch golf competition comprising of home and away fixtures versus the other four clubs of 10 players per side (2 x foursomes and 6 x singles). Games are scheduled for Saturday or Sunday afternoons, allowing for travelling to away locations and players with HI's lower than 2.0 can play in the league but they must play foursomes with a combined index of >6.0 for the foursomes pairing.

The team will be managed by David Wheatley, who has a squad of around 20 players and anyone interested in representing the club in this competition are asked to make contact (0771 3066940 or david.wheatley1980@gmail.com).

HISTORY

The club has had some success in the County (LRGU) Foursomes, with most recent achievements being - Nick Cunnington and David Smith winning the Pro AM event in 2019, Karen Haines and David Smith reaching the final in 2019 and the Men's Foursomes team of Andrew Fitzmaurice, David Smith, George Petrie and David Wheatley reaching finals day in 2020.

The club's inaugural season in the Five Counties League was in a Covid impacted 2020 - the team recorded one win, two halves and one loss in a truncated event.
