The Olive Branch

Main Street, Clipsham, Rutland, LE15 7SH

Email: info@theolivebranchpub.com
Web: www.theolivebranchpub.com

The Olive Branch is in the pretty village of Clipsham – just a mile off the A1 in Rutland, England’s smallest county. Originally three farm labourers cottages which were knocked together to make a pub back in 1890, it had been the heart of the village community until its closure in 1997. In 1997 we began to restore The Olive Branch to its former glory – with open fires, antique tables and chairs mixed with pine kitchen tables and benches; and then we added superb food. The atmosphere is friendly and informal – with chestnuts roasted on the fires in winter and homemade lemonade in the garden in summer. The menu consists of wonderful ‘pub classics’ alongside some more ‘restaurant style’ dishes – all using local ingredients. The bar stocks excellently kept real ales & many seasonal cocktails and wines from fine and rare classics to up and coming producers from the new world along with a list of great value house wines. We’ve maintained a Michelin star for the 10th year running and have gained many other prestigious awards. Complete a perfect evening with an overnight stay at the Beech House, across the road from the Olive Branch. Six luxury bedrooms, individually decorated and furnished with French beds, dressed with Egyptian cotton sheets.
